Saranya Devi Narahari clinches Gold, Sannidhi Ramakrishna Bhat Bronze at Asian Junior Blitz Girls 2026
WFM Saranya Devi Narahari scored an unbeaten 6.5/7 to win Gold at Asian Junior Blitz Girls 2026. WFM Lala Shohradova scored 6/7 to secure Silver and Sannidhi Ramakrishna Bhat Bronze 5.5/7.
Saranya’s fourth Gold of the year
The Commonwealth Under-18 Girls triple 2026 Gold medalist (Classical, Rapid and Blitz) – WFM Saranya Devi Narahari was the sole leader 5.5/6, heading into the final round. FM Prishita Gupta, WCM Shanmathi Sree S and WFM Lal Shohradova (TKM) were trailing by a half point at 5/6 each. Shanmathi lost to Saranya and the latter clinched Gold. Prishita suffered defeat against Lala who secured Silver. Sannidhi Ramakrishna Bhat defeated Archit Agrawal to win Bronze.

A total of 59 players took part from six countries across Asia. The one-day seven-round Blitz Rating Girls tournament was organized by Maharashtra Chess Association at ITC Maratha in Mumbai, Maharashtra on 17th August 2026. The time control of the tournament was 3 minutes + 2 seconds increment.
