Neelash Saha perfect at 2nd Szentmiklós Open 2026, Jaidambareesh second
IM Neelash Saha won 2nd Szentmiklós Open 2026 with a perfect score 7/7. FM Jaidambareesh N R scored 6/7 to secure second place.
Neelash’s sixth triumph of the year
The top seed of the tournament, IM Neelash Saha made a perfect start by scoring a double hat-trick. IM Sandor Videki (HUN) was the sole player trailing by a half point at 5.5/6. Sandor lost to Neelash, the latter became the champion and the former third. FM Zalan Udvardi (HUN) suffered defeat against FM Jaidambareesh N R who claimed second place.
The total prize fund was HUF 1300000 (€3650). The top three prizes were HUF 420000, 255000 and 175000 with a trophy each.

A total of 107 players including four IMs and two WIMs took part from 14 countries across the world. The four-day seven-round Rating Open tournament was organized by Sol Oriens Ltd. at Ipolyi Public Cultural Center in Törökszentmiklós, Hungary from 27th to 30th August 2026. The time control of the tournament was 90 minutes + 30 seconds increment.
