Arun Kataria decimates Baderia Global Rapid Rating Open 2026
FM Arun Kataria scored an unbeaten 8.5/9 to win Baderia Global Rapid Rating Open 2026.
Arun’s sixth overall, fifth rating tournament triumph of the year
Mani Bharathy and FM Arun Kataria were coleaders at 7.5/8 each, going into the last round. Arun defeated Mani to become a clear champion. Mukesh Mandloi lost to Arvind Iyer who finished second. Pranay Chordia won against Dileep Tripathi to claim third place.
The total prize fund was ₹222222. The top three prizes were ₹21000, ₹16000 and ₹10000 along with a trophy each.

FM Arun Kataria scored an unbeaten 8.5/9, finished a half point ahead of the competition and gained 17 Elo rating points
A total of 398 players took part from all over the country. The two-day nine-round Rapid Rating Open tournament was organized by Foundation Chess Academy in association with Baderia Global Institute of Engineering and Management, Jabalpur at Baderia Global College in Jabalpur, Madhya Pradesh on 26th and 27th June 2026. The time control of the tournament was 25 minutes + 15 seconds increment.
