Aurik Joshi clear first at SGMS Monthly Below 2100 Rating 2026
11-year-old Aurik Joshi scored an unbeaten 5.5/7 to win SGMS Monthly Rating Below 2100 Rating Tournament 2026. He finished a half point ahead of the rest. Dhanesh Venkata Narayanaswamy (SGP) scored 5/7 to secure second place. James Attwood (AUS) scored 4.5/7 to finish third. The total prize fund was SGD 1750. The top three prizes were SGD 1000, 400 and 200.
Aurik’s second rating tournament triumph of the year
Aurik Joshi was the sole leader 4.5/5, heading into the final round. Chan Jing Fong Joash (SGP) and Dhanesh Venkata Narayanaswamy (SGP) were trailing by a half point at 4/5 each. Aurik defeated Huang Puchun (CHN) to become a clear champion. This is Aurik’s second rating tournament victory of the year and also his career. Earlier in January, he won 4th DAV Go Checkmate U1800 Rating Tournament 2026.

A total of 10 players took part from various parts of Singapore, one from Australia and India each, and two from China. The five-day seven-round Below 2100 Rating tournament was organized by SG & GS PTE LTD. at Killiney Café, Katong Shopping Mall in Singapore from 30th January to 3rd February 2026. The time control of the tournament was 90 minutes + 30 seconds increment.
