FIDE Rating List July 2026: Arjun Erigaisi becomes World no.3 in Rapid

Arjun Erigaisi stays in World Top 10 in FIDE Rating list July 2026. There are now 14 Indian in Top 100 and ten in Top 100 Women.

Arjun Erigaisi returns to Top 10, 14 Indians in Top 100

Arjun Erigaisi slipped a place down to World no.9 after he lost 3.5 Elo rating points at 3rd UzChess Cup Masters 2026. His fantastic performance at World Team Rapid 2026 made him World no.3 in Rapid with 2745 rating, three points behind Alireza Firouzja (FRA) and 58 behind Magnus Carlsen (NOR).

R Praggnanandhaa’s Norway Chess 2026 triumph earned him 15.2 Elo rating points. He moved up by five places from World no. 16 to 11.

World Champion D Gukesh’s rating keeps dropping. He is now World no.26 with a 2717 Elo rating, same as Nihal Sarin who is now World no. 25.

Karthikeyan Murali gained 6.6 Elo rating points at French Top 16 team tournament 2026. He is moved up seven places from World no.53 to 46.

Pranesh M increased his Elo rating by 22.1 points at French Top 16. He jumped 25 places from 72 to 47.

The reigning World Junior champion, Pranav Venkatesh added 5.4 Elo rating points at French Top 16. He moved six places from World no. 54 to 48. He currently has the same rating as Pranesh 2666.

Abhimanyu Puranik gained a total of 26.1 Elo rating points, 5.7 at Pfingst Open 2026 and 20.4 at French Top 16 to return to World Top 100 after nine months. He is now World no.97 with 2629.

Women: Ten Indians in Top 100

Four Indians are in top 25. They are – GM Humpy Koneru, World no.8, GM Divya Deshmukh, World no.13, GM R Vaishali, World no.12 and GM Harika Dronavalli, World no.21 among women. Out of the top four Indian women, only Vaishali improved her rank by one place to World no.12 without playing any Classical event.

IM Vantika Agrawal gained 4.5 Elo rating points at Asian Individual Women 2026. Vantika moved six places from World no.57 to 51.

IM Savitha Shri B’s Asian Individual Women 2026 triumph earned her 19.5 Elo rating points. She jumped up 20 places from World no.89 to 69.

WFM Aamuktha Guntaka added 16.6 Elo rating points to move to her career high rating 2351. She also broke into Women World Top 100 for the first time. She is now World no.85.

WGM Rakshitta Ravi increased her Elo rating by 26.8 points at Asian Individual Women 2026. After six months she returned to the Top 100. She is now ranked World no.87.
