Gowtham K K clear first at Wellness Chess Tour GP4 Szentgotthard Rating Open 2026
Gowtham K K scored an unbeaten 6/7 to win Wellness Chess Tour GP4 Szentgotthard Rating Open 2026. Zsombor Szabo (HUN) and Laszlo Molnar (HUN) scored 5/7 each. They secured second and third place respectively. The total prize fund was HUF 500000. The top three prizes were HUF 200000, 120000 and 80000 HUF.
Gowtham’s first rating tournament triumph of the year
Gowtham K K emerged the sole leader 5/6, going into the last round. Laszlo Molnar (HUN), Zsombor Szabo (HUN) and Bence Teodor Kato (HUN) were trailing at 4.5/5 each. Jay Jay Penaranda (HUN) lost to Gowtham in the last round and Gowtham became a clear champion.

A total of 19 players took part from five countries across the world. The four-day seven-round Rating Open tournament was organized by AO Jozsef Jeszenszky at Lipa Hotel**** Szentgotthárd Conference Hall in Szentgotthard, Hungary from 19th to 22nd March 2026. The time control of the tournament was 90 minutes + 30 seconds increment.
