Narayanan S L dominates Stuttgart City Championship 2026
GM Narayanan S L scored an unbeaten 6.5/7 to win Int. Stuttgarter Stadtmeisterschaft A 2026.
Narayanan’s second rating tournament triumph of the year
The top seed of the tournament, GM Narayanan S L and CM Esat Tuna Turker (TUR) were the coleaders at 5.5/6 each, heading into the final round. Esat Tuna lost to Narayanan and the latter became the champion. FM Daniel Nunez Grégoire (GER) defeated FM Rudolf Wilhelm Bräuning (GER) to secure second place. FM Neil Albrecht (GER) drew against IM Marcel Becker (GER) and the former finished third.
The total participation was 315 – 120 in Group A (≥1800), 127 in Group B (DWZ ≥1300 – 1900) and 69 in Group C (DWZ <1500). The top three prizes were €1000, €700 and €400 each.

A total of 120 players including two GMs and two IMs took part from nine countries across the world. The four-day seven-round Rating A (≥1800) tournament was organized by chess department of SSV Zuffenhausen with the support of the chess department of TSF Ditzingen and the chess club SV Wolfbusch 1956 e.V. at Stadthalle Ditzingen in Ditzingen, Germany from 14th to 17th May 2026. The time control of the tournament was 40 moves in 90 minutes + 30 minutes + 30 seconds increment.
